Synopsis[]

In Season 2, following the fight with the Green Goblin which resulted in the destruction of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, Spider-Man's team ends up staying at Peter Parker's house. Affter learning that Spider-Man got his powers from one of Oscorp's genetically altered spiders at the end of last season, Doctor Octopus creates many serums with animal DNA in hopes of re-creating the process, and S.H.I.E.L.D. scientist Dr. Curt Conners, still dealing with the aftermath of the Helicarrier's destruction, njects himself with one of these serums to become the Lizard. Later, Doc Ock forces Lizard to join him, the Rhino, Electro, Kraven the Hunter and Beetle to form the Sinister Six. While Spider-Man and his team are able to defeat the Sinister Six, Lizard gets away twice, and Spider-Man vows to find and cure him twice. During the season, Spider-Man learns more about his teammates' origins (Ava Ayala having assumed the mantle of White Tiger after her father was killed by Kraven, Sam Alexander being the last member of the Nova Corps since former member Titus wiped the rest out trying to get another helmet and was recruited by the Guardians of the Galaxy, Danny Rand having assumed the mantle of Iron Fist after training in K'un-L'un and Luke Cage had received his powers from a S.H.I.E.L.D. version of the Super Soldier Formula developed by his parents.) After facing villains such as Juggernaut, Carnage, Man-Wolf and Loki, the team are forced to team up with Doc Ock when Green Goblin returns and releases the Venom Symbiote. They manage to destroy Venom, but Doc Ock escapes and Goblin is hospitalised. After Spider-Man has a showdown with Dracula, Norman seeks to repent for his actions and becomes the hero, Iron Patriot. Doc Ock creates the second Sinister Six, consisting of him, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Rhino, Scorpion and a controlled Lizard. They fight Spider-Man, his team and the Iron Patriot. Spider-Man manages to turn Lizard back into Connors, but Doc Ock injects Iron Patriot with the Goblin serum, turning him into the Green Goblin once more. Goblin defeats Doc Ock and Rhino, while the heroes take down the rest of the villains. The Sinister Six are arrested but Goblin escapes and activates the original Helicarrier. After he injects Spider-Man's team into goblin versions of themselves, he takes over the "Hell-Carrier" to inject all of New York with the Goblin Serum and fights Spider-Man. Spider-Man, with help of S.H.I.E.L.D., turn his team back to normal and confront Goblin, and they manage to defeat and arrest him.
