Alexander O'Hirn, formerly or currently known as Rhino is a Midtown High School student turned into a mutated rhinoceros-like supervillain and later an anti-hero. He is a member of the first Sinister Six, the second Sinister Six, (yet, later unwillingly as a member) Sinister Seven and (still unwillingly) Superior Sinister Six.
Physical appearance[]
After drinking a vial of animal DNA serum that he stole from Oscorp, he resembles a cross-species of a Rhinoceros and a human.[1]
History[]
Season 2[]
Spider-Man and Power Man encounter Rhino at the burning Oscorp building and end up rammed into a tree by Rhino who makes off with some exotic animal-related chemicals. Spider-Man and Power Man
later stakeout another Oscorp building and find Rhino charging towards an Oscorp train. Spider-Man and Power Man fight Rhino with the resulting fight causing Rhino to gash Power Man's leg. As Rhino charges towards Spider-Man, S.H.I.E.L.D. arrives causing Rhino to retreat with his "medicines". The next day, Peter Parker anticipates that Alex is responsible as Spider-Man sees Alex drink a chemical that transforms him into Rhino. Spider-Man fights Rhino to keep him from attacking Flash Thompson while trying to reason with him. Spider-Man then works to protect Flash Thompson and not even Spider-Man's electro-webs could phase Rhino. When Spider-Man finds Flash Thompson at his house near a gas station, Spider-Man gets Flash Thompson away from the gas station when Rhino causes it to explode. Spider-Man tells Flash Thompson to call for help as he continues to fight Rhino. When Rhino starts charging towards Flash Thompson, Spider-Man tries to reason with Rhino while doing a bucking bronco move on him. In the nick of time, Power Man arrives and grabs Rhino by the horn. Spider-Man tells Flash that Rhino is actually Alex. Spider-Man traps Rhino on some oil as Spider-Man and Power Man double-team on Rhino enough to regress back to Alex O'Hirn. As Alex is arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D., Flash apologizes to Alex as a female S.H.I.E.L.D. agent tells Flash that they'll take care of Alex.
He was later turned back into the juice-seeking Rhino to be part of the Sinister Six in exchange for the promise of more formula and he fought Power Man, but was defeated by Nova and placed in a cell in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s new headquarters.
Rhino is sprung out of Ryker's Island and is equipped with a tank-like armor. When the Sinister Six are reassembled (although Scorpion replaces Beetle), Rhino once again fight Spider-Man and then Power Man. He also assists in the Sinister Six's assault on Iron Patriot (Norman Osborn). After the Green Goblin's rampage, Goblin was able to defeat Rhino and Doctor Octopus while Spider-Man defeated the other Sinister Six members. [1]
Season 3[]
Dr. Curt Connors tells Spider-Man that Rhino is unable to become Alex O'Hirn again after running an analysis on him. Flash (who has since reformed and become "Agent Venom") and Rhino continue their old rivalry when Rhino escapes from the Tricarrier. With help from the Hulk and his newly-upgraded Iron Spider Hulkbuster Armor, Spider-Man temporary subdues Rhino in a tunnel after a long destructive fight across the city. Rhino than gets up and attacks the Hulk again. Spider-Man and Hulk then reason with Alex on a human level which leads to Spider-Man, Hulk, and Rhino working to keep the tunnel from collapsing. Upon making it to Queens, Rhino was unable to have the courage to go into his house and turns himself over to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents. Spidey convinces Fury to rather then sending him back to confinement he should join him at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy. Fury agrees to the terms while holding Spider-Man responsible for Rhino's actions. Rhino accepts and becomes a member of the New Warriors.
Rhino continued his educated at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy, he took part in a lesson taught by Ant-Man. When Doctor Octopus escaped from his cell, he helped Nova, Dagger, and Agent Venom battle him.
Rhino and his other class mates were suspicious of the new student Triton Rhino, Spider-Man and Agent Venom team up to battle Arnim Zola and his synthezoids.
While battling Arnim Zola Rhino and Flash part aside their bad feeling and work together to save Spider-Man. By the end of the adventure the two heroes have finally become friends.
Rhino and the other students where forced to take part in the Contest of Champions, a game between the Grandmaster and his brother the Collector.
Season 4[]
Rhino is revealed that in exchange for the cure to his condition, Rhino became a spy for Doctor Octopus, as he was blamed the one to inject Dr. Connors (in reality it was Scarlet Spider) with the Lizard serum and escape with Doctor Octopus with Agent Venom.
It is revealed that Rhino worked with Doctor Octopus so that he can restore him to Alex O'Hirn. When Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider arrived to free Flash Thompson after he was separated from the Venom symbiote, Rhino buys them time to escape. Following Kraven the Hunter's defeat and Spider-Man's group escaping, Doctor Octopus plans to cure Rhino of his loyalty problem.
Rhino appears as a member of Doctor Octopus' Sinister Six at the time when they attack the Triskelion. During the fight, it was shown that Rhino was made obedient to Doctor Octopus as he reveal that someone else was the spy. He was subdued by Squirrel Girl's squirrels. He is currently being apprehended to cure from the mind control Octavius implanted on him.
Upon Doctor Octavius' setup to reign entire world, starting from letting himself captured to gathered his Superior Sinister Six (including the new unwilling sixth member Crossbones as the new Lizard) together and compromised S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy graduation which guest starting Avengers (Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Iron Man), Doctor Strange and Ant-Man, Rhino is freed. When Doctor Octopus realize that Harry's father, Norman is not present due to being late to join his son on volunteering the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy graduation, Rhino is amongst the three brainwashed cross-species Sinister Six members along with Crossbones-Lizard and Vulture to capture both Norman and Spider-Man to prevent Spider-Man on getting his powers back which was lost when Octavius uses his curing serum gun that cause Spider-Man powerless during a raid in S.H.I.E.L.D.. However, Spider-Man manage to get Octavius' curing serum gun, thus curing both Crossbones, Toomes and Alex back to normal. Though Crossbones rather not helping Spider-Man while feeling in debt for saving his life, Toomes and Alex helps Spider-Man on defeating Kraven before Octavius knock them out. After Octavius began to realize the error of his way and turned himself in, Toomes and Alex are now pardoned to retake S.H.I.E.L.D., now under education by the new tutors Scarlet Spider and Agent Venom.

Background in other media[]
- This is Rhino's eighteenth other media appearance and fourth animated appearance.
- In the comics, Rhino was a Russian mobster named Aleksei Sytsevich, who donned an artificial rhino costume bonded to his skin, while in this series, he is a humanoid rhinoceros and is an American teenager. This version is also a genius unlike his comic counterpart who is more of a dimwit.
Trivia[]
- Rhino, Doctor Octopus and Kraven the Hunter are the only villains to be on every incarnation of the Sinister Six.
- This version of Rhino's design is slightly similar to his appearance from The Amazing Spider-Man video game based on the 2012 film.
- Alex as Rhino was voiced by Max Mittelman, who would later voice Harry Osborn in the 2017 TV series Marvel's Spider-Man.
- Max Mittleman only voiced Rhino in his debut appearance, while Daryl Sabara voiced Alex specifically when not transformed as the Rhino. In all future appearances, Darly Sabara voiced Rhino in both human and mutated form
